Matt and Margret’s rainy engagement session
On my top 10 list of things that could put a kink in a session getting rained out likely in the top 3. Thankfully we were able to adapt and overcome with these Paint Creek engagement photos.
With engagement sessions, I usually don’t discuss a rain back up because they are pretty easy to reschedule. For this reason, I will stalk the weather leading up to the session. Both Margret and I watched the weather like crazy because we knew rain was in the forecast. We agreed that things looked like they’d clear up and scheduled a start time.
When we arrived it was a steady drizzle. Ugh, I was beside myself. I thought oh my goodness, we worked so hard to choose a time that would work. So we sat in the car for a solid 10 minutes before we decided to make a run for it. The rain was light but steady so we started their session under the cover of a nearby structure but I knew that wasn’t going to be enough. I needed a variety to make this session pop.
Thankfully, they had an umbrella in the car which allowed us to move around the area with coverage. If I am being honest, I was a little concerned we wouldn’t get enough variety in their images. In reality, these images are some of my favorite from this year.
I love this spot in Rochester for engagement photos and wedding photos! It gives a cityish feel without heading all the way to Detroit. It also offers a ton of variety for locations to shoot at.
