Michigan Wedding Photographer | National Shrine of the little flower Wedding
As we near the end of another I get the chance to look back on all the amazing weddings I’ve had the honor of being a part of. Erin and Adam’s will go down as one of my top 10 for sure. This amazing couple was such a pleasure to work with. From the start of our conversations to the time we hugged goodbye these two were so sweet, so kind and just overall amazing people to be around. I truly wish they lived closer so I could treat them to dinner and drinks from time to time.
Adam and Erin spent many nights together on the U of M campus while they were dating. They actaully had me travel to the U of M campus for their engagement session. As a first timer in the area they gave me a great tour. As we roamed the campus they shared silly stories of their college days and we chatted more about the amazing wedding they were planning.
One thing I was most excited about for their wedding day was shooting at their church. Anyone who knows me know I am a sucker for a good’ol Catholic church! The National Shrine of the Little Flower has been one on my radar for years! I’ve always driven past and wondered about the history. Since this blog post is not about history I won’t drive into that but if you’re anything like me and adore historic sites you should go read up on that.
When we arrived to the church I was instantly in awe of the amazing architecture and the stained glass. As soon as I saw Adam and Erin I was wow’d at how at peace they both looked. Erin was a vision in her cap sleeve beaded gown and Adam looked so dapper in his tux. Their ceremony was filled with meaningful words and vows that would bond them together.
After their ceremony we headed to my favorite places in the city, the DIA and the Detroit public library (my goodness I adore these places)! I could not get over how amazing they looked paired with the amazing backdrop the relics of our city provided.
After spending a couple hours in the D we headed back toward home for their reception at the Iroquois Club. Their decor, their cake, their flowers. I could go on and on about how amazing this day was but if you scroll down you see for yourself!
