A Peek Inside a Real Wedding at Cushing Field House, Holly Michigan

Rachel and Adam’s Cushing Field House wedding

What happens when two college kids meet in a chemistry lab and that spark never fades? You get Rachel & Adam — and the most stylish, joy-filled wedding day at Cushing Field House in Holly, Michigan.

Their day was the perfect mix of romantic and refined. Editorial in style, but warm and welcoming in every way — the kind of wedding where you leave with both goosebumps and a full heart.

A Love Story Written in Chemistry

Rachel & Adam’s story started in a college chem lab — yep, real science goggles and all. What began as classmates quickly grew into late-night study sessions, inside jokes, and eventually, a love story that led them here. Watching them laugh their way through portraits and wipe away tears during their vows, it was so clear: this is the kind of connection that lasts.

The Venue: Cushing Field House

It’s one thing to describe Cushing Field House — and another to see it come alive on a wedding day like Rachel & Adam’s.

Inside, the warm wood beams and candlelit tables created an intimate, romantic glow that perfectly balanced the venue’s clean, modern lines. D2 Events styled the reception with thoughtful touches — textured linens, glowing candles, and florals by Epsilon Floral that brought the whole space to life.

And then there’s the outdoor space. The fields surrounding the venue gave us those editorial portraits — sweeping countryside views with wildflowers dancing in the background. Add in the ceremony setup, where floral columns framed Rachel & Adam’s vows, and it felt like the venue itself was part of their story.

Cushing Field House really is that perfect mix of editorial-worthy and heartfelt — polished enough for a magazine spread, but warm enough to feel like home.

The Florals

Rachel carried a bouquet that looked freshly gathered from a summer meadow, crafted by the talented team at Epsilon Floral. Think soft pinks, purples, and whites, tied together in an arrangement that felt wild yet refined.

At one point, a bee actually landed on one of the blooms during portraits. Proof that even nature couldn’t resist these flowers.

Her bridesmaids carried smaller bouquets — each featuring a single type of flower pulled from Rachel’s bouquet. It was such a chic way to keep the bridal party cohesive while letting every bouquet feel unique, and it photographed so beautifully.

The Ceremony

Surrounded by their families and closest friends, Rachel & Adam said “I do” in a heartfelt ceremony led by Down the Isle Ceremonies. There were tears, laughter, and that moment when the world just goes quiet except for the vows you’re making.

The floral columns framed them beautifully, but honestly, it was the way they looked at each other that stole the show.

Reception Styling & Planning

The flow of the day was absolutely seamless; That’s thanks to D2 Events, who planned everything down to the smallest detail while still letting the day feel natural.

The reception was chic and intimate: soft linens, glowing candles, and tables dotted with fresh blooms. Their sweetheart table, overflowing with florals, became the perfect frame for emotional toasts, stolen glances, and a room full of laughter.

It had that “editorial but not overdone” vibe — stylish, modern, and so them.

Portraits in the Fields

One of my favorite parts of the day was sneaking Rachel & Adam out into the fields around Cushing Field House just as the light dipped low. Her sleek strapless gown against the wild greenery, his sharp white jacket catching the sunset — together, they were pure magic.

A Day to Remember

Rachel & Adam’s wedding at Cushing Field House was everything: heartfelt, stylish, joyful, and unforgettable. From a love story that began in a lab to vows exchanged under Michigan skies, it was a day that felt effortless but full of intention.

If you’re dreaming of your own wedding at Cushing Field House — or just want photos that feel like you but with an editorial twist — I’d love to tell your story too.
