A lavish Detroit wedding at the Ford Piquette Plant
There are some weddings that just feel like Detroit in the best way possible—historic, stylish, a little bit industrial, and absolutely timeless. Abbey and Stephen’s Wedding at the Ford Piquette Plant was exactly that. From the old-world luxury of The Detroit Club, to their breathtaking ceremony at St. Florian Catholic Church, to the glamorous black and gold reception design at the Ford Piquette Plant, every detail felt sophisticated, warm, and so very “Detroit.”

Getting Ready at The Detroit Club
We all know I adore the city but what I love more than wandering around the places I love is discovering more places to love in Detroit. That’s where Abbey and Stephen come in. I can hardly believe I am saying this but before their wedding day, I had never been to The Detroit Club. I know, I know, such a stunning space went under my radar for too long. When I arrived I was in awe of everything but what caught my eye was the main ballroom, those floor-to-ceiling windows with the velvet drapes, STUNNING!

Using this space for the groomsmen’s prep was the best choice as it allowed the guys to have plenty of space to hang while being equally refined, and I have to take a moment to appreciate his embroidered velvet loafers—absolute style goals.

Abbey’s bridal suite was the epitome of elegance, filled with gold accents, velvet furnishings, and soft natural light streaming in from the grand windows. Her getting ready photos here felt straight out of a classic romance film. And let’s talk about Abbey’s bridal look for a second—because WOW. She stunned in a beaded gown with a plunging neckline and a dramatic veil that caught the light in the most magical way. Every detail was refined yet modern, the perfect fit for the grandeur of the venues they chose.

A Timeless Ceremony at St. Florian Catholic Church
If you’ve ever seen St. Florian Catholic Church in Detroit, you know it’s a jaw-dropping ceremony space. The soaring ceilings, intricate stained glass, and dramatic lighting made for the most incredible backdrop as Abbey and Stephen exchanged vows. The moment they walked hand-in-hand down the aisle as newlyweds, with that golden light hitting just right, you could feel the joy radiating through the space.

A Wedding Party Adventure: Fisher Building & Cadillac Place
After the ceremony, we took a little tour through some of Detroit’s most iconic landmarks for wedding party and couples’ portraits. First up: The Fisher Building, where the art deco architecture and moody gold tones gave us that cinematic, editorial feel. Next, we stopped by Cadillac Place, where the black and white checkered floor and grand gold doors created the perfect contrast to Abbey’s shimmering gown and Stephen’s classic tux.

Sunset Rooftop Photos at Ford Piquette Plant
And then—just when I thought the day couldn’t get better—we headed to the rooftop of the Ford Piquette Plant. If you’ve ever dreamt of rooftop wedding photos in Detroit, THIS is how you do it. The mix of urban skyline views, historic industrial vibes, and golden-hour light created absolute magic. Abbey and Stephen stole a few quiet moments together, soaking in the moment before heading into the party of a lifetime.

A Candlelit Reception at The Ford Piquette Plant
The Ford Piquette Plant was transformed into a glamorous, moody, and utterly romantic reception space. The black and gold color palette felt like a perfect blend of industrial meets high-end elegance. Picture:
? Long banquet tables lined with gold chargers and flickering candlelight
? Lush greenery and ivory florals adding softness to the exposed brick
? String lights glowing overhead, creating the most intimate ambiance
Abbey and Stephen made their grand entrance, and from that moment on, it was pure energy. Heartfelt speeches, a packed dance floor, and a couple who clearly knows how to celebrate—this was one for the books.
